This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn or refresh the basic principles of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It is especially useful for those who have previously completed a first aid course and want to maintain their ability to respond quickly and safely in emergency situations.

Learning objectives
Participants will gain the confidence and practical skills needed to perform effective chest compressions and rescue breaths, and to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) correctly and safely.
Course content

The four steps of first aid

Basic CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

How to check responsiveness and breathing

Opening the airway and relieving airway obstruction

Correct technique for chest compressions and rescue breaths
Age requirement
Participants must be 14 years or older.
Assessment
Participation and practical performance are continuously observed throughout the course. No written or practical exam is required.
Refresher recommendation
It is recommended to renew this training every two years in order to maintain skills, confidence and preparedness.
